Celebrating Media Excellence in Child Rights and Protection
The Child Rights & Protection Media Awards (CRAPMA) is CRALAF's annual recognition programme, honouring journalists, media houses and digital content creators whose work advances children's rights, highlights child protection concerns, and gives voice to vulnerable children across Kenya.
Held each year as part of the commemoration of Universal Children's Day, the Awards bring together government institutions, development partners, civil society organisations and media practitioners to celebrate excellence in ethical, child-sensitive reporting.
CRAPMA does more than celebrate good journalism it actively shapes it. By recognising responsible, child-sensitive storytelling, the Awards:

Celebrated journalists who demonstrated excellence in reporting on child rights and protection issues.
Raised public awareness on abuse, neglect, violence, harmful cultural practices, and children in conflict with the law.
Strengthened partnerships between media, government and civil society to advance children's rights.
